Picking Favorites

There are four kids in my family. I have an older brother named Jon who is 23 years old. He is getting his Masters in Accounting up in the University of Montana. I have a younger sister who is 20 years old who goes to school in Butte. She wants to be an engineer. Then is the youngest Ethan who is an 18 year old stuck at home alone with our parents. Let me give you a run down on how the family is:

My older brother is the "Momma's Boy" of the family because he is the oldest. He gets spoiled by the mom. She babies him. My sister is the only girl so obviously she is royalty in the home. She had the biggest room equipped with a walk in closet, a bathroom, a futon, a chair, a tv, a couple of dressers and a desk. Her car even got a space in the garage. Then of course comes Ethan who is the youngest of us all and he has had everything provided for him since the day he was born. He has never had to get himself a glass of water. Then comes me. I am the neglected middle child forgotten by my parents and rejected by my siblings. No one even knows I exist. My mom and dad dont love me as much as my other brothers and sister. Sounds like a pretty sad family situation huh? Well that is definately as far from the truth as it can get.

My parents love us all. We are their children. It doesnt matter what order we came into the world. It doesnt matter if we are the only girl. It doesnt matter if one of us gets to park our car in the garage or have the biggest room in the house. They love us all equally. My parents love me as much as they love any of my siblings. I know they would do anything for me just as they would do anything for my brothers and sister. That is the real run down on the family.

This is the same with our Heavenly Father. He loves us all equally. It doesnt matter when we came into the world. It doesnt matter what we look like. It doesnt matter what our living situations are, God loves us all. He is just as willing to give to one as he is to another. He is no respector of persons. He loves the child living in Africa as much as He does the child living in America. All of His children are accounted for. We are all numbered. All will recieve a just reward in the end. We all be forced to exclaim "Holy, holy are thy judgments," when we stand before Christ to be Judged.

Since the beginning of time God has followed a pattern of love and concern. He has reached out to his children and revealed his plan to them through prophets. He did so in the Near East and he did so in the Americas. We have a record of what God has done for His children on both continents. That record is found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. God gave his word to all of His children so that they all can know how to return to live with him. The Book of Mormon is evidence of that. He spoke to the people in the Americas too and others across the world. We can know this to be true because we are all His sheep. He is the good shepard and his sheep hear his voice. He has visited all of his sheep. (John 10

The way of salvation has been prepared for all of us. He has revealed his gospel to prophets today. Visit mormon.org and discover more about how much God loves us. I leave my witness that He lives and He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for us. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God comparable to the Bible. It was written for our day to let us know that God has again called a prophet. Everyone is invited to come discover the message it contains. You can even read it online http://lds.org/scriptures/bofm?lang=eng. Come discover the truth for yourself.

  1. GREAT message--and loved your family descriptions! You can imagine, we can relate in our family with 7 kids! Some always feel like the others have the better situation. Fear not, you are so wonderful I'm sure your mother must love you superbly! We really miss you here in Crescent City--You are an amazingly great missionary and you do such a great job as an "internet" missionary as well--facebook, blog, etc. You are reaching so many people! Can't imagine your siblings could be greater than you in that way at all!
